Before I gave a list of my favourite Firefox extensions. Now, it’s time for some general tricks and tips that I found a bit hidden, but extremely handy in Firefox.

Comment le savoir que c’est une “forgery”?

As it is really difficult to write in French I will switch to English now.

First of all, the topic is strange, as I have nothing to do with CiC, it’s hard to believe that they have blocked my account that doesn’t exist. Moreover, I find suspicious every e-mail coming from banks as I am try not to give away my e-mail address too often.

Second, if you have your statusbar open (the line at the bottom of the window which says “Done” (you can open it under the View menu), then moving over the link, you can see that actually it points to a different site. In this line, by opening the website, you can see that it is not cic.fr.

Third, if you use Firefox, then Firefox will tell you that you are about to open a web forgery site. I hope other major browsers do the same. If not then it’s time to switch!

As I have many friends who are amazed by the speed I use my browser, I decided to give a quick overview of what I use. The first part is easy to copy, you will simply need to install some extensions. This is presented in this article. The second part (another article) might be harder as that will be about the keyboard shortcuts that I like, but many don’t know about. So you will have to learn them first.
